 About Andrew Hollander and the Artful Prairie

This website is under constant development by Andrew (Andy) Hollander for his creative and professional pursuits and interests. Having grown up in the plains of the upper Midwest, Andy learned the meaning of life, the value of a hard day's work, and an appreciation for the profound beauty and art in the region's vast landscapes down to the smallest organisms.  The choice for the name of this website is a acknowledgement and tribute to that legacy.

From an early age, Andrew Hollander has exhibited an insatiable curiosity, a disciplined but open process of thinking, an affinity for technology, a cooperative nature, and strength of character. He holds BS, BA, MS, PhD, and MBA degrees as well as a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification and a (very out of currency) private pilot license. Being overly educated is helpful, but that knowledge must be applied, tested and evaluated in the crucible of reality to become value added.  Since completing his PhD in 1983, Andrew has been using and expanding that knowledge base in the working world, and gaining experience in research, teaching, consulting, academic administration, project management and organizational leadership.

These experiences have helped develop the pragmatic, bottom line oriented, even handed, thoughtful, evidence guided, creative, and work ethic attributes that are Andrew's trademarks. However, these characteristics are tempered with humor, vision, and common sense.

On the personal side, Andrew is an award winning photographer, avid bicyclist, traveler, and published author with deep interests in science and technology.
